最近美国健康网站WebMD发表的著名克里富兰医院牙科医师的文章表明:适当的护理,可以保持你的牙齿牙龈一生健康。护理的四个基本步骤:正确地刷牙、用牙线、吃食物和看牙医。

刷牙的窍门
.
每天至少刷两次,最好每顿饭后都要刷牙。刷牙能去除依附在牙齿上的菌斑,因为菌斑中的细菌接触到食物,会产生酸,导致蛀洞。

刷牙时:
· 用软的牙刷,在牙刷上挤绿豆大小的含氟牙膏。
· 刷牙时牙刷与牙龈线成450角度。
· 牙刷在牙齿上以打圈的方式刷牙齿嚼面的最上部。每次刷一颗牙,连续。避免刷毛与牙齿平行刷和过重刷。让刷毛刷到两颗牙齿的中间。
· 用同样的打圈方式清洁牙齿面对舌头的那一面。
· 清洁下前牙时,刷头的角度是对着牙齿内面上下打圈刷。
· 清洁上前牙时,刷子的角度是上下笔直,刷头指向嘴上部。以打圈的方式刷。
· 轻轻的用软刷刷舌头,从后部刷到前部,不要用力刷。这会帮助清除舌部细菌保持呼吸清新。
· 刷牙两三分钟后,用水漱口,冲洗口腔。
· 两把牙刷,轮流使用,以保证牙刷干燥,每3-4个月换一次牙刷。

使用牙线的诀窍

每天用牙线一次。牙线能清除残留在牙齿之间的食物和菌斑,如果菌斑一直残留在牙齿之间,会形成牙石,就必须要牙医来清除了。

使用牙线时:
· 拿一根40-45厘米的牙线。使用干净部分牙线,用过的部分就把它绕道手指上。
· 把牙线绕在双手中指上,留出2。5厘米的空隙来清洁牙齿。先清洁上牙,然后下牙。
· 把牙线放进嘴里用食指推动牙齿之间的牙线。小心不要推得太重太深,伤到牙龈。
· 在牙齿之间和牙龈周围上下推动牙线。清洁时牙线必须在牙齿里成C字形。清洁每颗牙齿之间和里面。

正确地吃

食物要多样化,但是要少吃富含糖和淀粉的食物。因为这些食物会在口腔里产生酸,长期残留在口腔里,会损害你的牙齿。儿童吃硬棒棒糖尤其有害。

吃糖类零食也会导致蛀牙,因为大多数人不会在吃完零食后刷牙。淀粉类零食,如薯片,会粘在牙齿上。因此要避免吃以下零食:
(1)糖,曲奇,蛋糕和派;
(2)糖类口香糖;
(3)饼干,面包棍和薯条;
(4)干果和葡萄干。

These can cause severe damage to your teeth. Most carbonated drinks erode your teeth enamel. Other drinks like coffee and tea stain your teeth. When you are taking drinks that are likely to stain your teeth, then do not have them too hot or too cold. This will cause the drink to seep into the crevices of the teeth and you will find it hard to remove.

Flossing your teeth is quite necessary as this will increase the longevity of the teeth life and the health of the gums. Flossing removes food particles and bits that are trapped under the gums.

Use your teeth for what they are intended for:

It is found that most people use their teeth for a different kind of activities. This includes using the teeth as a tool and sometimes as a can opener. Using the teeth for activities like these can cause the enamel to erode / crack and loosen the teeth from its base.

Avoid smoking:

Smoking is likely to cause stains on your teeth that are un-removable. Gum diseases affect smokers more than non-smokers.Smokers beware.

Avoid clinching or grinding teeth:

The amount of pressure that can be exerted by one’s jaw is tremendous. If this is done against bone to bone or teeth to teeth it can cause sever permanent damage? Don’t express anger in ways like this. It will cause more harm than release of tension.

There are a number of medications that are available over the counter that will cause serious gum problems or dental problems. Know what you are taking and update your knowledge about the side effects of the se medications.

Exercise:

There is no exercise for your teeth other than gum massage. The exercise that causes harm here is the ones that you do for your body. More often than not it has been found that more damage is caused to teeth by weights banging against the mouth than normal wear and tear.

Visit the dentist regularly:

Make it a habit to visit your dentist once every six months. He can guide you and tell you about the status of your teeth and can do some professional cleaning once in a while.
